The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

Don’t you just hate it when, even though you removed all your make up before bed, you still wake up the next morning with panda eyes? This was one of those things that bothered me sooo much. It didn’t matter how well I removed my make up and with which products, some mascara always remained stuck in my eyelashes, resulting in panda eyes almost every morning.

Then a few weeks ago I came across a review written by a dutch beauty blogger Dainty Ribbons about The Body Shop’s Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter and I’m so glad I did, her review sounded so promising, I went out and bought the product that same week.

Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing butter, is as the name says, a cleansing butter. It’s more or less a scentless product and the texture reminds of coconut oil. It’s a solid substance but melts on contact , which makes it easy to apply. You only need a small amount to remove your make up, I use about the amount as depicted above. Just take a small dollop and massage it into your face and it’s almost as if the make up melts of your face! I have to say it does look a bit funny.

For the purpose of this review, I put on some red lipstick, just to show how well this stuff works (I stopped wearing lipstick when I got my braces, because I think it just looks awful). I started by pulling my hair back to avoid any of the product getting into my hair and applied the Cleansing Butter massaging it into my skin. Once I had done this, I rinsed my face with warm water and voila! Squeaky clean! Scroll down to watch the whole thing in a time lapse video.

After trying this out the first time, I was impressed. Even more so when I woke up the next day without panda eyes!! I’m so impressed with this stuff, it cost me €13 and was worth every penny and has received a permanent spot in my beauty case.

  1. Hmmmm interesting. I may have to try. I currently use Neutrogena wipes. I have used MAC wipes, oil based products and Olay wipes in the past. This being a “butter” with chamomile makes me believe that it may be soothing. Always a plus. Thanks for sharing!
